We met when our eldest boys went to playgroup together. That was nearly 20 years ago and we’ve been great friends ever since. Forming Muralise together has been a dream and doesn’t ever feel like work!

I’ve literally been drawing since I was a toddler. When my siblings were watching tv I’d be up at the dining room table drawing Cinderella dresses and copying all the classic ladybird book illustrations!
I studied at art college -chose the wrong course and sadly lost my passion for art. I ended up working at Anglia TV and then did the whole got married, had three children being super busy all the time and then becoming a primary school teaching assistant.
When Covid hit, I needed something to do so I started doing portraits and selling them, eventually going to life drawing classes. I also illustrated a published book . Ever since then I have loved getting the paints and pastels out!
Last year, someone at work asked me to do a mural for the children’s library area and the rest as they say is history!
My favourite artist has always been Botticelli although I’m loving a bit of David Hockney at the moment.
My inspiration is colour, for me the bolder the better!
I’m a Norfolk girl born and bred, spending my childhood living by the sea. I have been married to Ray, (who I met when we were 10 years old) for 28 years and we have two sons, Callum and Max.
I have always loved anything arty and crafty and will try my hand at anything. I trained to be a teacher at university and chose art as my major subject. During my 30 years as an Early Years teacher, I still longed to have more of a creative outlet. I have always dipped in and out of painting and creating, but never had the courage or self belief to do anything with it! Then came Jo’s brilliant idea! Ta da!
I am instantly drawn to nature and botanicals. I can literally spend hours drawing and painting flowers and plants. I would say my style is more illustrative than fine art, but this suits many mural and window designs.
Setting up Muralise has been a joy but a HUGE learning curve! Jo and I are very proud of ourselves.
